If you haven't been to In-N-Out, here's something to whet your appetite: http://www.in-n-out.com/menu.asp. May I recommend the Double Double "Animal Style"?

With enough fortune, I bet they would do it and then put the money to the in-n-out foundation. Win win. Burgers for us, kids get helped.

In-N-Out Burger is also really good to their employees - good health benefits, wages, etc.

I just wrote to IN-N-OUT Burgers about a Seattle location and they responded quite promptly (4 hours). Perhaps if we put enough fame and fortune behind this incentive, they'll build one out here:

"...particularly into areas in which our customers have expressed interest..."

Here's the the email response in it's entirety:

Dear Mr. Andrew Lin:

Thank you for your e-mail and for your interest.

In-N-Out Burger® is a privately held, family operated business which first opened in Baldwin Park, California, in 1948. As we continue to expand, we are always careful not to open a new location until we can guarantee the same quality food and service as we provide in our existing locations.

Although we are unable to confirm a site in Washington at this time, In-N-Out Burger® plans on expanding as far as we can, and particularly into areas in which our customers have expressed interest. As such, we are happy to let our Real Estate Department know that you would like us to open an In-N-Out Burger® location in your area.

Thank you again for contacting us.

Sincerely,

Colene Jones
Customer Service Representative

My understanding of this is that they don't freeze their meats -- and that's why they're so tasty. But because of it, they have to keep the In-n-Out locations within a one-night truck driving distance from their farms. I've also heard that they're very loyal to their farmers.

Believe me, I've hoped for this as well. But one can still dream -- I'll pitch in some money and some points for this. =)

I will eat In N Out Burger. All self-imposed dietary restrictions have a breaking point. The Double Double is mine.

In-and-out burger is the best fast food in America, and would put Dick's to shame

I've heard the reason that they don't have them outside of California (and closely surrounding regions) is that they use specific suppliers and don't want to ship their supplies over long distances. I'd guess this is for economical and environmental reasons, but I don't know the whole story...

Their burgers are delicious! It's also pretty wild to see the restaurant staff actually peeling the potatoes that they're making the fries with. Fresh and tasty.
