I own a small company that makes things out of recycled materials. We need an awesome sign for our workshop, but I can't figure out what to make it out of. If anyone suggests a great idea for a sign that we end up using, I'll give you a free Ad Bag! (www.alchemygoods.com)

Thanks for the idea! Though I won't be carrying out your suggestion exactly as described, your submission definitely inspired a winning solution. We'll be using a collection of signs salvaged from Seattle streets, cut up to say "Alchemy Goods". If you email me your mailing address, I'll send you the prize!
Winning Solution:
Solution #1 submitted by pearl on Jul-11-2007
This idea is about to expire soon. Since no one has provided a solution yet, I'll give it a try.
This is the idea:
Materials (recycled material also):
(1) a square metal plate (from a junked car or something)
(2) inner tube in round shape (since you use this for your product. Your website says it weatherproof and duerable)

Design components:
I. square metal plate
II. a round shape made from the inner tube, size should be smaller than the square metal:
(1) recycle symbol i.e. the green arrows
(2) Blue circle which represents the earth
(3) Your logo "AG"
III.
(1) company name: alchemy goods
(2) Your slogan: Turning useless into useful

Layout:
A. center (i.e. II from Design components)
(1) your logo "AG" inside the green recyle symbol which is inside the blue circle
B. Outer Frame:
(2) you somehow glue (1) above to the metal plate (maybe there are better ways to do than "glue"?)
(3) put your company name on the metal plate above the blue circle
(4) put your slogan on the metal plate below the blue circle

Eli,
Thanks! When I posted my solution, my intention was to trigger more solutions from other mob users. I am so glad you finally found a solution!

By the way, "Using a collection of signs salvaged from Seattle streets, cut up to say "Alchemy Goods" "is very creative...it definitely brings out the spirit of your company!
When you are done with your new sign. Do you mind take a picture and post it here? I can't wait to see it.

Sure. I'll send you my mailing address. You have very cool products there.

Thanks for the great idea. So there are so few ideas proposed, you may just be the winner. We'll see.

To respond to some open comments:
What I'm looking for is a way to post our company name (Alchemy Goods), with our logo (Ag in a box with a number in the upper right hand corner) and possibly our company slogan (Turning useless into useful). Our workshop just has a paper printout taped to the outside of the door. We want a real sign to put outside our door. The winning contribution will outline a material and possibly technique for building a sign that we put outside our shop. It'll have to do all the things that signs do: be weatherproof, catchy, say something about our company in its design. This is a tough one I know!

Our new carpet around the house was made of recyclable materials. The manufacturer called it SmartStrand. I think if you call your workshop by the name of Green Something or Smart Something, it will be catchy. But since your bag can be of any color including green, I think you can go with smart. For example, SmartBag, SmartFabric, SmartAlchemy, etc.

Will the sign be placed on the product? Will it be in the logo box or can it be anywhere on the product?

Do you want a visual design plus specifications for what materials to make it out of and how to get them? How big does the sign need to be?

Are you just looking for the material for the sign or the design as well? Do you have specific requirements for the content of the sign (eg. words, themes, etc...)?
